Halloween Candy Buyback - Sharing Your Mounds of Joy

We are going head-to-head with the cavity bugs and redefining the phrase "put your money where your mouth is." This Halloween, little ghosts and goblins can trade in their excess candy for cash, and help support our overseas troops.

Trick-or-treaters are encouraged to gather all their excess candy and bring it to Dental Horizons on November 1st between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm. In return they will receive $1 per pound and other prizes as well as be placed in a drawing for an iPod shuffle and Sonicare toothbrush.

"It's a win for everyone. Kids can have fun dressing up on Halloween and gathering candy, but eating it needs to be in moderation." says Longmont dentist Dr. Andrew Kelson. Over-consumption of candy can dramatically affect children's teeth and lead to other overall health concerns, while giving back our abundance teaches service and self-discipline.

The collected candy will be donated to "Operation Gratitude", a non-profit organization that ships the candy overseas to our military troops. U.S. soldiers can enjoy a little taste of home and win the hearts of the local community by sharing "mounds of joy". More importantly, the letters and cards that are shipped with the candy from each young donor can raise the spirits of our service men and women away from home.

Combating the cause of childhood decay is only one way Dr. Andrew Kelson is "Guiding Generations to Healthy Smiles"
